An injury-plagued and defensively weak Denmark

Denmark started this year's World Championship by winning three straight games against Hungary, France and Austria, but have since fallen in two straight matches as Germany and the USA defeated the Danes 6-4 and 3-0 respectively. As was mentioned in the guide ahead the championship, Denmark has their strongest cards in the offense with Nikolaj Ehlers in the lead, and as the headline tells, is it a slightly weak defensive display from the Danish team as they have conceded an average of three goals per match without having faced the group's strongest teams yet; Sweden and Finland, and in the games against Germany and the USA, which are the toughest group opponents they have faced so far, they had a tough time defensively with a large number of finishes against their own net.

In addition to the weak defensive, the Danish team needs to deal with two injuries ahead of the game against Sweden and ahead the rest of the tournament. The team's first goalkeeper, Frederik Dichow, had to withdraw from the game against the USA after the first period and will miss the rest of the tournament. In addition to Dichow, the Danish team has Mathias Seldrup and George Sørensen to put in between the posts, and it was the last mentioned who stepped into the match against the USA. In addition to Dichow, the Danes also have to deal with an injury on the NHL-merited defenseman Oliver Lauridsen, who also had to withdraw from the game against USA.

Sweden aim for the group victory

Sweden is chasing victory in Group A, which is currently topped by the USA, who have so far taken the full pot during the Championship. Sweden are also undefeated in the Championship so far, but a penalty shoot-out was required in the game against Finland before the victory could be secured. During the Championship, Sweden's defense has been of a high class, as they only have conceded two goals and therefore are the best team in the Championship when it comes to hold tight. Also Offensively, they have shown strength with an average of four goals scored per game and a large amount of goal scoring chances created, and in the squad there is plenty of offensive quality where it is currently Henrik Tömmernes who is the internal scoring league leader and where players such as Lucas Raymond, Jonatan Berggren and Fabian Zetterlund is available.

Conclusion and prediction

Before today’s game against Denmark, I think that Sweden have a good chance of winning, as so far during the tournament they have shown a solid defense combined with a strong offense that scores an average of four goals per game. Given that Denmark have a weak defense and also has to deal with two significant injuries on goalkeeper Frederik Dichow and defense general Oliver Lauridsen, I think the Swedish possibilities of scoring at least four goals here are good.

My betting tip for this game is therefore:
