Vegas Golden Knights-Winnipeg Jets
Winnipeg Jets - Vegas Golden Knights
Friday 00:00, NHL
Vegas the overall better team in the series
Winnipeg won the first game of the series with 5-1, and made an impressive game where they shut down the Vegas offense effectively as the Golden Knights only managed to shoot seventeen shots on goal. Since the first game, the Golden Knight has taken over the command of the series and has taken three straight wins. Besides being the team that has scored the most goals and got away with the victories, the Golden Knights has also been the team that has created the biggest amount of goal scoring chances in this three games and in the series overall. Besides the 5-2 and 4-2 wins, the Golden Knights managed to get a victory in overtime in game three, when they first lost a three goal lead but in the overtime period could clinch the win after an important goal by Mike Amadio.
Tough injury situation for Winnipeg
As if a 3-1-disadventage wasn't enough for the Jets, the team from Manitoba has to deal with injuries in several key players ahead of game five. Behind Kyle Connor, Josh Morrissey was the Winnipeg player who scored the most points in the regular season as he managed to collect 76 point from his defensive position. The Canadian defenseman missed game four after he was forced to leave game three after just two shifts and 1:14 time on ice due to a lower-body injury. Josh Morrissey looks to miss the whole series against Golden Knights and it is of course a big loss for the Jets. Besides Morrissey out, the Jets also is set to deal with an injury on their star center Mark Scheifele as he left game four on Monday night after just three shifts and 1:40 time on ice due to an undisclosed injury. During the regular season, it was just the above-mentioned Kyler Connor and Josh Morrissey who scored more points than Mark Scheifele.
Conclusion and prediction
Vegas Golden Knights has the possibility to advance to the next round, and a home win against Winnipeg Jets tonight is what is required to clinch the advancement. Can they do it? My shortly answer on that question is yes.
In my opinion, the Golden Knights has an overall stronger roster and the team’s offense, that was invisible in game one, has started to produce a bigger amount of goal scoring chances and goals which has paved the way for three straight wins. Star players such as Mark Stone, Chandler Stephenson and Jack Eichel has started to produce in greater occurrence and the bottom six forwards at Golden Knights is clearly stronger than at Jets. The Jets also has to deal with injuries on the two key players Josh Morrissey and Mark Scheifele.
The Golden Knights has overall been the better team in this series and has created the biggest amount of goal scoring chances in the three games that they have won and in the series overall. When the Jets also has to deal with injuries on two of their absolutely best players, my belief in a Golden Knights advancement only gets bigger.
My betting tip for this game is therefore:
Vegas Golden Knights to win at regular time @ -105 at bet365
