Tip: Have the Edmonton Oilers woken up? Vegas is coming to town!
Current bets
It has not been a fun start for the Edmonton Oilers, who were one of the Stanley Cup favorites ahead of the season. However, things have looked better in recent rounds, and someone who has really lit up is superstar Connor McDavid, who in the last two victories against the Anaheim Ducks and Washington Capitals has made a total of nine (!) points. Vegas Golden Knights come back to back ahead of the match after a loss against Calgary Flames tonight.
Has it finally turned around for the Oilers?
It certainly feels like it. Connor McDavid definitely seems to have woken up for real. Nine points in the last two matches testify that the Canadian looks like his old self again. The positive thing is that it's not just McDavid who is racking up points. Like many previous seasons, Leon Draisaitl is a point machine and currently tops the internal point league with his 28 recorded points. However, none of them is the best goal scorer in the Oilers. It's Zach Hyman with 12 goals who currently tops the scoring for Edmonton, and behind him, Evander Kane has looked lively and has so far managed to score 10 goals. If Hyman and Kane can continue their production, there are more offensive threats along with defensemen Evan Bouchard and Mattias Ekholm who can produce forward and join McDavid and Draisaitl, a frightening thought for the opponents.
In the last two matches, Edmonton has also looked better in the defensive game. Against the Capitals, they managed to improve their play in the penalty kill and managed to kill five two-minute penalties, and against Anaheim, they also kept tight in the penalty kill. In goal, Stuart Skinner seems to have built up a bit more confidence.
Vegas Golden Knights faltering
Vegas Golden Knights is one of the league's better teams and they top the table in the Western Conference. Despite this, Golden Knights have faltered a bit in the recent rounds, including losses against Philadelphia Flyers, Pittsburgh Penguins, and Arizona Coyotes. In particular, the goal scoring has been a bit halting and against both the Penguins and Coyotes, they were shut out. In the victory against Dallas, Mike Amadio scored the only goal during regular time. Even the powerplay has not been successful. Against Calgary Flames, they managed only one goal during regular time; that won't be enough if they hope to secure a victory against the Edmonton Oilers.
Ahead of the match against Edmonton Oilers, Vegas Golden Knights come 'back to back' after a match against Calgary Flames. A match where Knights were significantly pushed back for large parts of the game. It also became a physical match and the feeling is that there will be tired bodies taking on a motivated Oilers on the rise, which could be a tough task.
Betting Tips and Conclusion
Match row: YOpLSARW6FnASz
I have great respect for Vegas Golden Knights who with their solid basic game are rarely outplayed and often stay in the matches until the end. But before this match, they will play after a physically demanding match against Calgary Flames. At home ice, there is also a Connor McDavid in top form along with an Edmonton Oilers that looks determined to turn this season around. After two strong performances against Anaheim Ducks and Washington Capitals, the feeling is that the Oilers are back and ready to take on the task that awaits them tonight.
