Tip: Arizona Coyotes seem to be facing a tough time against Edmonton Oilers
Current bets
I won't drag this text out too much. Likely, we'll see an Edmonton Oilers team making quick work of a tired Arizona Coyotes, who had a hard fight last night against Colorado Avalanche. Despite the effort, they left the Ball Arena empty-handed after a late decider by Devon Toews made the final score 4-3 to Colorado.
McDavid on Fire!
Connor McDavid needs no introduction. The Canadian is the world's best hockey player, and after a slightly hesitant start to the season, he has stepped up significantly. In 49 games, he has scored 81 points and has truly taken up the chase on MacKinnon and Kucherov at the top of the scoring league. Just in the last 10 games, he has produced 22 points. In the game against Detroit Red Wings three rounds ago, he made an astonishing 6 assists.
After an incredible 16 consecutive wins, they recently hit a snag against Vegas Golden Knights, and after that, they have suffered a couple more losses, but there's no doubt that the Oilers are one of the hottest and best teams in the league at the moment. It's also not surprising that they are favorites to lift the Stanley Cup in a few months.
Interestingly, there have been some changes in the lines recently. McDavid has been joined by Draisaitl and Perry in the first line. In principle, I don't like it when Draisaitl and McDavid play in the same line; it creates a bit more imbalance in the team and makes the Oilers a worse team. But when that duo is on the ice, it almost doesn’t matter how the opponents try to cover them, they will create a lot and score goals. Perry must be pinching himself, going from abruptly leaving the Blackhawks, a bottom team, to playing with two of the world's best forwards. He also made two points last time, a goal and an assist.
For the home team, it's likely to be an untested card in goal since Matt Villalta looks set to experience the NHL heat for the first time. It's not the most pleasant task awaiting the young Canadian. However, we can probably agree that he doesn't have much to lose, which is always something!
Conclusion and Betting Tips
Arizona Coyotes - Edmonton Oilers
Thursday 02:00, NHL
It's not much to discuss, really; sure, the Oilers could have an off game and drop points, stranger things have happened. Arizona is not a bad team, but they hardly belong to the league's top, and with a tough game in their legs as recent as yesterday plus rotation in goal to an inexperienced gentleman, it risks being a one-sided story. I don't usually give two betting tips, but today I make an exception and also pick a bet that Corey Perry will score points, the company around him couldn't be better!
